The Moon is not always comfortable in a fire sign, however, there are some very positive aspects to consider on this Full Moon. As well as bringing a culmination of energy, this moon being in the first sign of the zodiac, also carries with it the energy of new beginnings. Sun, Moon, Jupiter and Pluto (now moving direct), are all sitting at 20 degrees. Whatever themes or activities you are experiencing during this month of October will set the flavour for the year 2020.
All the sacred elements are essential for our survival. I feel that Fire can sometimes get a bit of a bad rap as its often seen as the less accepted of our emotions, anger. Sure, fire can definitely express itself as anger when it has no creative outlet, but I prefer to call this energy passion. Seems appropriate that thousands of people are out on the streets, speaking their truth and asking for compassionate action with Extinction Rebellion right now.
The Full Moon will be linking up nicely to Jupiter in Sagittarius, more fire, expanding our sense of optimism and giving us a push to point our passion in a positive direction. After a long retrograde this year, Jupiter’s forward momentum in his home sign of Sagittarius is in full effect. The green light is finally on as new opportunities are popping up all over the place and there is a stronger ability to see the bigger picture.
Like most Full Moons, feelings are heightened and the fire energy may bring up old resentments. It is through this heightened sensitivity we have access to transform some deeply buried emotions that can sometimes lead to destructive or compulsive behaviour. Each time hurt feelings pass through us without understanding, we accumulate an unwanted burden. This keeps us chained to the very things we need to heal: the pain, the memories, the echoes of resentments and arguments that we rehearse over and over. You do not need another person to express and release stored anger, it can be done through your physical body. My preferred method is dance, feels very good to shake and stomp that shit off.
In Evolutionary Astrology Pluto represents the soul. Perhaps some soul learning could be obtained during this period as Pluto creates a perfect T-Square to the Full Moon. How can we feel deeper into what our soul truly desires? Its good to look at the things we are a bit obsessive about. By obsessive I mean, what takes up a lot of your thinking time? I’m sure most of us can find something, lets review that. Is the amount of energy you’re using for this a benefit to you and the world around you? If you were to project all your power into this obsession, what kind of impact could it have in the world? Now compare that question with some of your other passions that get less of your mind time.
The Sabian Symbol for 20 degrees Aries is a young girl feeding birds in winter - “overcoming crises through compassion and the transmutation of life into love.” A beautiful impact could be made at this time if we choose to channel our passion into service and self-acceptance rather than scuffle and sabotage. More fighting will just fuel the fear vibration which is already running wild out there.
Fire is light. Its an essential ingredient for photosynthesis in plant life. It does not need to destruct it can help us to grow. Feel into your passion over this moon, what lights you up? See where it takes you. There is so much to be joyful about, and when you find it, share it. My heart nearly burst out my chest as I walked through Green Park station on Friday hearing ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon sung so beautifully… “You may say i’m a dreamer, but i’m not the only one. I hope some day you will join us, and the world will live as one!” Yes John!
Keep finding the joy, it’s everywhere! And know that love is not a relationship with someone, it is a way of life with everything. Peace and moon beams to you all.
Blessed Be
